Historic country house in Styrian Alps
In Baierdorf, a small village on the foot of the Sölk Pass known for its massive medieval tower stands the Mainharter Haus, an imposing country house built in 1734. Within easy reach lies the picturesque town of Murau, the romantic Prebersee and the big UNESCO Biosphärepark Lungau where the beauties of nature are protected to the highest level. The modern skiing facilities of Turrach, Kreischberg, Lachtal and Obertauern are popular centers in winter. A particular attraction is the fashionable Polo sport, which draws crowds of elegant holiday makers to the Turrach Lake. Shooting is practiced in the dense woods of the area and local hunters are always ready to share their passion with guests.
With its 600 m2 of living space it offers ample facilities for graceful living and entertaining. Next to an extreme spacious living room with an open fireplace and a large dining room with access to the terrace and the small garden, the house has a well proportioned study, 6 bedrooms, 6 shower rooms and one full bathroom. There is a large entrance hall and a games room as well as various smaller rooms, one of which could be used as an office. Heating is provided by a central system based on oil, part of the house has floor heating. The whole house is tastefully furnished with traditional furniture as well as fully equipped with bed linen and all the necessaries for cooking and dining. A special feature are the original 18th-century beams on most ceilings and old solid wooden floorboards. The oldest part of the building is the cellar with its vaults going back to medieval times. Just the place to store your wine collection !
